My career in the arts has been an adventure marked by unexpected turns, bold choices, and a relentless pursuit of creative fulfilment. My story isn't a tale of traditional beginnings but rather a testament to the transformative power of saying "yes" to unforeseen opportunities.

It all started with a lost bet on a football field at the age of 16, catapulting me onto the stage for an audition that I initially perceived as an embarrassing task. Little did I know that this seemingly trivial moment would lead me to the title role in the school musical.' Faced with a decision to reject the role or embrace a new path, I chose the latter, setting the stage for an unexpected journey into the world of performing arts.

Post-school, I pursued a career in health and fitness, unaware that a career in the arts was an option. Joining an amateur society opened doors within the musical theatre industry, guiding me through a unique path of learning without the confines of drama school. This unconventional approach resulted in a small rep company, offering me the chance to earn my first professional credits and perform across various venues in the UK.

In 2007, a workshop production in New York City sparked the realisation that a career in the arts was not just a dream but a tangible possibility. The experience laid the foundation for my multifaceted journey, where teaching emerged as a new passion. I found myself running musical theatre classes for children and young adults, revealing the diverse opportunities within this challenging yet rewarding industry.

Transitioning from a successful personal trainer to a musical theatre actor and performer marked a pivotal moment in my career. Since then, I've travelled the world, using my skills as a singer and actor, and have taught at different performing arts colleges. I have had success as a writer, director, and producer—all concurrently.

My journey as a creative multi-hyphenate culminated in the creation of the Stage Door Group—a company that embodies the philosophy of embracing diverse skills in the performing arts. We've successfully generated employment opportunities through original performances and are set to create a national event for musical theatre education.

Years spent chasing a specific professional title taught me a valuable lesson: success wasn't about choosing one path but embracing them all. This realisation shattered the confines of a mindset that held me back, allowing me to see the success I had been chasing all along. In an industry often deemed unstable, I've consistently provided for my family by seizing opportunities and remaining open-minded to possibilities.
